Where to begin…?
No new post in a month… no I didn’t drop off the face of the earth, but I have been traipsing around Thailand, and Europe, in that time! A quick timeline…
Mid-July: Quest with the Evangel team and Scott and Julie. We went to a waterfall and had activities at each level. What fun! There was a little rain but the students enjoyed it. Some are interested in learning more about God.
Also Mid-July: Goodbye to, well, almost everyone! The Evangel team returned to the States after two months of service in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Scott and Julie Jackson, my beloved teachers, co-planners, and friends for the last 11 months, went back to Illinois after an amazing year here.
Jamie, Merry, Liz, Derek, Dr. Gary Martindale, and Steve in the back – THANK YOU for all you did this summer!
Scott and Julie did a great job this year, writing curriculum, teaching, spending time with students, planning events, being a friend, and showing the love of God in everything. I will miss them!
And another Mid-July: My parents came to visit!!! It was great to see them and spend some time showing them my life here and introducing them to all my friends. We also took some time off to go to Phuket and Krabi, two beautiful beaches in the south of Thailand. Too bad it was rainy season… but we still had fun.
End of July: Goodbye Mom and Dad. 🙁
End of July: I took off to Budapest, Hungary, for a 9-day conference about ministry to university students. It was a great week of training, learning, listening, building relationships, and sight-seeing too 🙂 Pictures to come for this one!
Mid-August: Now back to the “daily grind” … if you can call it that. Right now I’m teaching 4 classes per week at the English Center, and a friend of mine is helping to teach a class two days per week. God please send long-term teachers! We have almost 40 students, and almost half of them are new to the Center. The others are returning students, which I’m excited about too.
Thanks for all your prayers and support for me and for the English Center. Great things are ahead, I just know it!
I miss you too!!!!!
