Radio Revelations Part III – Tickets, “Bleeding Love,” and more “Road”

A few more things I’ve learned and observed from the radio:

7) On Tickets: Have you ever wondered how many theme park and concert tickets are given away on any given day by radio stations all over the nation?  THOUSANDS.

8) On “Bleeding Love”:  You can hardly listen to a few radio stations for 15 minutes without hearing Leona Lewis’ song “Bleeding Love.”  A lot of love songs are just plain ol’ love songs, and I know that some people stretch them to say the artist could be singing about or to God.  Perhaps.  In case you haven’t heard the song, the chorus is: “You cut me open and I keep bleeding, keep keep bleeding love…”   This song makes me think about my own love, and what kind of love is flowing through my veins.  It might be a graphic picture to think of us bleeding, but spiritually if someone were to cut open our veins, what kind of love would they see?

I want to bleed God’s love that He has poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5) – I want to be compelled by Christ’s love (2 Corinthians 5:14) – I want my faith to count because it is expressed through love (Galatians 5:6) – I want to be rooted and grounded in the unsurpassable love of Christ  in order to be filled with the fullness of God and therefore treat other people with love (Ephesians 3:17-4:2) – I want to live a life of love as Christ did (Ephesians 5:2) – I want my love to abound and so discern what is best and be pure (Philippians 1:9-10) – I want my labor to be prompted by love (1 Thessalonians 1:3) – I want to love deeply (1 Peter 4:8) – I want to obey so that God’s love may be complete in me (1 John 2:5) – I want to love in actions and in truth (1 John 3:18) – I want to love and drive out fear (1 John 4:18).  We live because our blood continually courses through us.  I want to live because God’s love so powerfully flows through me at every moment.

Bleed love.

9) On my travels, again:  “Every day is a winding road, I get a little bit closer…”    My winding roads every day are bringing me closer to Thailand!
