Calming down?

Things seem to be calming down with the protests in Bangkok.  The day after I last posted, the government went in to break up the protests, and the reds had one more heyday, burning more than two dozen important buildings in Bangkok.  One was Central World, Southeast Asia’s second largest shopping plaza.  Check out this Wikipedia article to read about it.

Curfew was imposed throughout the nation, in all provinces that were previously under a state of emergency — Chiang Mai included.  So for four nights, people were not supposed to be out between 9pm and 5am.  This morning the curfew is lifted, and perhaps life will return to normal.

But the situation is not resolved yet.  Please pray for Thailand, that God would bring peace and that people would not live in fear.  Pray that God will give wisdom to the prime minister and nation’s leaders for resolving the injustices and ill feelings on the many sides of the political and class struggles.  And in everything, pray that people would find God amid their trouble.
